Mill Housing Installation Completed at Shinmade Pickling-Tandem Cold Rolling Project, Entering Critical Core Equipment Installation Phase

On August 3, 2026, Shandong Shinmade Technology Materials Co., Ltd. fully completed the installation of mill housings for its Phase IV 1450mm six-high six-stand pickling-tandem cold rolling project. The Company’s Board of Directors attended the completion ceremony and presented watermelons, cold drinks and other heatstroke prevention supplies to frontline construction workers.

From the arrival and placement of the first set of mill housings on July 29 to the full completion of hoisting of all housings by the scheduled date, all participating construction teams overcame numerous difficulties to hit the milestone on time. This marks a full shift of project focus to the critical core equipment installation phase, a landmark milestone in the Company’s high-end new material industrial layout.

As the load-bearing foundation and core framework of the entire pickling-tandem cold rolling line, mill housings bear all rolling loads and are known as the "anchor stone" of production lines in the industry. Their installation precision and construction progress directly determine the schedule of subsequent equipment assembly, commissioning and official production. The timely full placement of all mill housings lays a solid hardware foundation for the entry of auxiliary supporting equipment, single-unit commissioning, full-line linkage test runs and scheduled completion & production launch. This milestone fully delivers on the important expectations delivered by Lin Wu, Secretary of Shandong Provincial Party Committee, during his inspection visit to the Company.

During his inspection on July 21, Secretary Lin Wu encouraged the enterprise to maintain firm investment confidence, accelerate the construction of high-end production lines, and advance high-end, intelligent and green development. The successful delivery of this key milestone is a tangible demonstration of Shinmade’s commitment to fulfilling development expectations through solid work and consolidating core competitiveness via major projects.

The core equipment of this Phase IV project is China’s first 1450mm high-speed ultra-thin six-high six-stand pickling-tandem cold rolling mill unit featuring small-diameter work rolls, fully manufactured by China First Heavy Industries (CFHI), a national key equipment enterprise with outstanding industrial advantages. The unit achieves a maximum rolling speed of 1,800 meters per minute, with a designed annual output of 1.6 million tons of premium ultra-thin cold rolled sheets and a minimum finished product thickness of only 0.15mm. Centered on the core design goals of "thinner gauge, faster speed and higher precision", the project will become a benchmark ultra-thin strip cold rolling engineering project in China upon completion.

Aligned with national Guiding Opinions on Promoting High-Quality Development of the Iron and Steel Industry, the project follows the industrial development theme of "high-end products, intelligent technology and green production", and conforms to the industrial layout orientation of the 15th Five-Year Plan. Supported by high-speed and high-precision rolling technology, the project will enrich the Company’s high-end sheet product portfolio, fill the capacity gap for ultra-thin materials, and comprehensively elevate the enterprise’s core market competitiveness.

The project is built through powerful collaboration with central SOE support, bringing together top-tier national suppliers of equipment manufacturing and engineering construction. CFHI, the core mill equipment supplier founded in 1954, was one of the 156 key national industrial projects during China’s First Five-Year Plan. It was hailed as a "national treasure" by Premier Zhou Enlai and described as "China’s top manufacturing base" by General Secretary Xi Jinping. As a centrally administered state-owned backbone enterprise, CFHI has advanced national heavy equipment manufacturing for seven decades, filling 584 domestic technical gaps and supplying over 6 million tons of complete major metallurgical equipment, making it a core full-process metallurgical equipment supplier.

All mill housings and complete rolling mill sets for the project adopt CFHI’s proprietary core metallurgical manufacturing technologies to guarantee long-term stable equipment rigidity and rolling precision.

China No.3 Metallurgical Construction Corporation (MCC3), the general contractor of the project, also boasts an outstanding industry reputation as the "cradle of metallurgical construction". As one of China’s earliest large-scale comprehensive metallurgical construction enterprises, MCC3 holds multiple Grade-A general contracting qualifications and decades of extensive experience in steel plant construction and heavy mill installation, delivering professional construction support for the high-precision, high-difficulty mill housing hoisting and all subsequent installation procedures.

With all mill housings fully positioned, the Phase IV project construction has entered a brand-new critical phase. Follow-up work including overall factory roof beam erection, full project completion and production startup will be advanced in sequence. Driven by urgent market demand and production launch targets, the Company has put forward new requirements for all participating contractors and staff: strictly adhere to workplace safety red lines, maintain rigorous standards for equipment installation precision, reverse-engineer construction schedules, track every construction milestone closely, and push forward auxiliary equipment assembly, pipeline laying, intelligent system integration and all follow-up procedures through standardized operations and refined management.

The Phase IV pickling-tandem cold rolling project serves as Shinmade’s core strategic initiative to target the high-end coated metal sheet track and deepen its core new material business.
